Answer

Answer d.

A patent ductus arteriosus, maintained by the infusion of prostaglandin E-1, will allow for left-to-right or right-to-left flow dependent on the lesion. This must continue until surgical repair can be undertaken. Lesions that are duct-dependent are tricuspid atresia, pulmonary atresia, HLHS, and Tetralogy of Fallot. PAPVD does not necessitate this arrangement.
